Common Questions About the Alumni Association
Here's where you'll find answers to common questions about the Alumni Association,
the Alumni Directory and staying in touch with St. Edward's and former classmates. For
questions regarding campus facilities, access, how to obtain transcripts and events.
Q. How much does it cost to join the Alumni Association?
A. Nothing. The Alumni Association does not charge membership
fees, and all graduates of St. Edward's High School and the university are automatically
members of the association.
Q. How can I get in touch with an old classmate?
A. The fastest way to locate a fellow classmate is to use the
new online Alumni Directory. You will need a special
username and password to access the directory. Or, you may contact our office at
512-448-8415 or via e-mail. We
will contact that person and release your information to them. Then they get to
choose whether to contact you. Please allow approximately 2 weeks for your phone
or e-mail request to be processed.
Q. What if I don't have a username or password to access the online directory?
A. Simply send us an e-mail with
your request and we'll issue one for you. Please allow 2 weeks to process your
login request.
Q. Why is it important for me to update my contact information and news
with St. Edward's?
A. Keeping
us up to date with your most current contact information is what keeps you informed
of upcoming events, assures you receive any mailings, including the university
magazine, and allows you to stay in touch with your
classmates.
Q. How do I update my information?
A. Keeping your information updated is the best way to hear about
new happenings on campus. Update your information here
on the online directory!
Q. What about lifetime e-mail? Do we get a permanent alumni e-mail address?
A. We realize this is a service that many of our alumni would
enjoy and we are considering this option. In the meantime, please keep your alumni
profile up to date so we can share any news on upcoming services and benefits
with you.
Q. How can I support St. Edward's University?
A. Being
involved in the Alumni Association is a great way to support the university. We
are always looking for volunteers to assist with local events, campus-hosted activities,
and other department-specific opportunities. Also, you can support the university
through annual gifts
to The St. Edward's Fund. Be sure to register in the St.
Edward's Alumni Directory and update your personal profile so that you can receive
the most current information on upcoming celebrations, reunions and other events.
Q. I’d like to serve on the alumni board. How do I get involved?
A. Please contact
the Office of Alumni and Parent Programs for more information about our Alumni
Board of Directors and serving as a member. View
more information about our current board or obtain a nomination form.
Q. How can I start an alumni chapter in my city?
A. Broadening our reach as an Alumni Association is the cornerstone
to all our activity. Expanding our chapters is a great way for alumni to stay connected
to St. Edward's - no matter where they live. If you're interested in starting a
chapter in your area, just contact the Office
of Alumni and Parent Programs and we can assist. We can help you identify the
best way to contact local alumni, assess potential alumni activities and begin
forming a chapter.
