Student Concerns

Student Concerns & Self-Help Resources

There are many great things about college life, which may also include many challenges such as academic stress, relationship problems, financial pressures, and conflict with parents. These are just some of the concerns students have as they seek personal counseling at the Counseling & Consulting Center.

Many of the students who come for counseling are experiencing normal college student stress. Some students are experiencing more serious concerns (i.e., depression, anxiety). All students are invited and encouraged to seek personal counseling regardless of how serious or normal they perceive their concerns to be.

Similarly, some students want information from brochures, self-screening questionnaires, books, and internet resources to answer questions and gain additional information about a particular topic of interest. We provide some suggestions of resources to use primarily from the Internet along with literature that may be helpful in better understanding a problem.
