WHEN REPORTING THE EVENT,
BE SURE TO GIVE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION

- Whether an ambulance or the fire department is needed
- The address and name of the building
- Location of the sick or injured employee
- Your phone number or the number of the nearest phone
- Inform the 911 operator that University Police will meet the ambulance at the Congress entrance and escort it to the location
TAKE THE FOLLOWING ACTIONS
AFTER REPORTING THE EMERGENCY
- Do not move the injured party
- Make the injured party as comfortable as possible until emergency assistance arrives
- Stop all work activities and shut down all equipment in and around the area of the accident/injury
- Secure the area and do not touch anything that may be of interest in an investigation of a work-related injury
- If there is equipment involved in an injury, the equipment should be tagged "Out of Service" until the investigation is completed and the equipment is checked by Building Maintenance
- If the accident scene involves bodily fluids, employees should not clean up the area (a trained person with proper personal protective equipment will perform this job)
