Ordering Software

Faculty and Staff: All software for university owned computers is ordered through Technical Acquisitions. Information on home use rights for selected packages is available on the Home Use Rights site. Faculty and staff may also access the site for software discounts at e-academy.

Students: Substantial discounts on Microsoft Software (Office, Vista, Project, Visio) are available to students at e-academy. Symantec AntiVirus is available on the SEU Installer which is provided free to on campus residents.

Training and Documentation
As part of our Computer Training for faculty, staff and students we provide training and documentation for many of the operating systems and software applications we support. Copies of some of that documentation are provided through the appropriate links on the left in Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF). Files in PDF format require that you have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your computer. Also included are manuals and tutorials from software vendors for some applications and additional documentation specific to implementation at St. Edward's University.

Web tutorials on basic computer terminology, operating systems, e-mail, the World Wide Web, word processing, presentation software, and spreadsheets are available at the Computer Competency site.

Support
The Computer Help Desk (x8443) provides support for software on the supported software list. If we cannot immediately answer your question we will refer you to an expert in the application.

Instructional Support: Guidance and support for faculty through the process of integrating technology into course curricula is available through Instructional Computing.
