Media Services' support

Media Services' mission is to accommodate classroom instruction with reliable technology. Our philosophy of design and maintenance of technology teaching areas is much more efficient than delivering technology equipment across campus. We primarily support the fifty-five classrooms that are scheduled by the registrar's office for regular credit classes. This includes classroom instruction and regularly scheduled classes. We are also responsible for Administrative Special Events such as the Board of Trustee's Meetings, Administrative Retreats, and President's Meetings, both on campus and off campus. We also provide limited equipment and maintenance for the PA systems used at athletic events in the RCC. The LCD projection equipment we have on hand is used for replacing malfunctioning classroom equipment and we don't maintain portable computer carts.

Ragsdale support

The Ragsdale Center and the Maloney Room are the primary meeting and special event facilities on campus. All non-academic events, student, faculty and staff meetings, conferences, seminars and other events that are not regularly scheduled credit courses are advised to consider the Ragsdale Center first. Many of the rooms in the Ragsdale Center already have permanently affixed technology.

The staff of the Ragsdale Center accepts reservations for equipment set ups in the multipurpose rooms and conference rooms outfitted with technology. The Ragsdale Center also handles reservations and consultation for outdoor events requiring sound support. Based on resources available and timeliness of the request, the Ragsdale center's staff may deliver equipment to other areas.

Limited or no support

There are several other conference areas and meeting spaces which neither Media Services, nor the Ragsdale Center 's staff is involved in the reservation of the space or the technology accommodation. Sorin Hall 102 and 105, Trustee's Hall 210, Fleck 200 and 210 fit this category. In such classrooms setup requirements are too extensive and therefore it is not considered feasible to permanently install equipment . Rather than requesting portable technology to transform these areas into technology rooms, we strongly recommend the usage of areas where the technology is already permanently installed.

Residence Life has TV/VCR equipment and one portable LCD projector available for resident's halls and dormitory usage. Neither Media Services nor the Ragsdale Center provides technology equipment for the campus residential areas including dormitories, apartments or community centers.

Special Requirements:

For outdoor deliveries and other technology set ups for other unsupported areas, the Vice President of Information Technology must sign off for the event before a commitment for services is made.
