Online Writing Lab Workshop

Academic Research: Finding and Evaluating Sources. This workshop offers a guide to the research process, from choosing a topic and creating a research plan to finding sources in online databases and evaluating those sources for relevance and reliability. Campus Community Emergency Response Team (C-CERT) Train-the-Trainer Course

C-CERT Train-the-Trainer program serves to educate Campus police, public safety, fire service, EMS, emergency management, security, environmental health and safety, facility or campus housing management, community relations, faculty or other personnel employed by any public or private college or university who may be called upon to train or lead campus CERT teams, assist with program management, or teach CERT as a college course. CERT trainers from any local public safety agency, Red Cross chapter or other organizations that provide services to colleges and universities are also welcome. This regional training is open on a first-come, first-served basis to qualified registrants from any agencies or academic institutions in Texas, and nationwide. There is no cost for the training.

University Programs Presents Jeannette Walls

University Programs presents Jeannette Walls. Walls is the author of the powerful memoir, The Glass Castle, which has been on the New York Times best-seller list for over two years and has sold over two million copies. The memoir details her life growing up in extreme poverty and describes the harsh obstacles she faced in overcoming her past. From the desert of the Southwest to West Virginia, her account of an impoverished life is a powerful and moving first-person testament to what it means to be poor. Walls will discuss her compelling memoir by sharing anecdotes from childhood and throughout her life.
