Crime Statistics
Campus safety is a vital concern for the entire St. Edward's University community. Maintaining an environment that continually demonstrates the university's values of personal respect and dignity to all is a reflection of our mission. There are a number of security measures in place to safeguard the well-being of students and staff, including:
- 24-hour professional campus police force
- Restricted key card access to student housing
- Residence hall receptionists and resident assistants are assigned to all campus housing
- Emergency Response Guide (pdf) that's placed at every phone
on campus to ensure that staff and students can respond appropriately under a
variety of emergency scenarios (flood, tornado, fire, accidents, criminal activity,
etc.)
The University Police Department maintains a record of all incidents and offenses reported to the department. The annual report required by the Jeanne Cleary Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act is prepared using these records. Each year, the University Police Department publishes a Campus Crime Statistics Brochure that is available to parents and students. In addition, the University Police Department maintains a daily log of all crimes reported to the department. That log and the annual report may be reviewed at the University Police office during normal working hours.
