East Hall Staff

East HallResidence Director, Jen Wichman

Hey All!  My name is Jen Wichman and I am the Residence Director of East Hall.  I am excited to be spending my first year as a Residence Director, where during my undergraduate career I was a Resident Assistant and first year resident!  The Holy Cross Tradition is an important part of the St. Edward's mission and has played a key part in my life having attending Holy Cross schools since my adolescence.

While I spent four years in Austin earning my BA in Psychology at St. Edward's, I am originally from Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.  I love Austin and all the culture is has to offer; however, all things Ohio remain close to my heart!  I spend my free time playing soccer and volleyball, watching TV, and reading.  I am a book addict, so if you have a good recommendation, feel free to pass it on.

This year has endless potential and I am thrilled for all those who get to be a part of that!  If you have any questions or would like to chat please feel free to stop by my office in the East Hall main lobby!

RA Staff
Marion Frizzell
Hi! My name is Marion Frizzel. I am a sophomore communication major who can’t spell sophomore for her life. I am originally from New Orleans, Louisiana and am ridiculously proud of that fact. I moved to Houston in August of 1999 beating the Katrina rush by about 5 years. I love music. A lot. In particular I like pop, dance, and most especially 80’s hair metal. I love all things 80’s. I have been told that I was born 15 years too late. So I am your go-to-girl for anything 80’s. I am a huge fan of books and reading. Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and the Twilight series are some of my favorite books. My favorite sports are football (GEAUX SAINTS!) and soccer. I am super excited about living in East this year. I know that we are going to be the best hall on campus and I am glad to be a part of that. My room is 101 so feel free to stop by and say HI!

Kyralyssa Hauger
Hello, my name is Kyralyssa Hauger and I am the RA for 2nd floor North side. Last year I was a first year resident in East and loved it. I am excited to be back for my sophomore year and first year as an RA.

I am from San Antonio but like to think of Austin as my home away from home. I am a Chemistry major so you will find me in the science building quite often. I love music of all different genres and am always open to hearing new things. I have been playing the guitar for the past nine years so you may hear me playing in my room. I adore reading and watching movies, especially on lazy Sundays.

I am looking forward to our year together; I think it’s going to be a blast! And if you ever need anything just come and knock on my door!

Arielle Kassner
'Ello! I'm Arielle Kassner the RA from First Floor South in East Hall. I'm from El Paso TX.  I'm in my sophomore year following a major in Political Science, and I really like bananas. When you catch me around there is several things I could be doing.  I wear big headphones when listening to music.  I'm a certified barista so you might catch me at Meadows Coffee House.  I like to make up words and phrases, and I like long walks on the beach and watching the sunrise... So this is going to be an exciting year!

Amanda Hartley
Hey! I'm Manda (Amanda Rose Hartley), the 2nd floor South Side RA. This is my second year working as an RA in East Hall. I have absolutely loved my time here so far, and I'm completely psyched for another amazing year! I'm hoping to graduate this upcoming May (that is, if my student teaching goes well), but I have no idea what I'm going to do once I leave. Right now, the plan is to apply to everything that sounds interesting and see where life takes me. My end goal, however, is to work in either student development or land a job as a guidance counselor/volleyball coach somewhere. Speaking of which, I LOVE volleyball! I've played since fifth grade, and I'm currently playing in a sand league here in Austin. My other loves include roses, music, sailing, beaches, pine trees, and the culture of the Indian subcontinent (I spent 3 months in India and hope to work there someday--or at least visit again).  I also love pirates and am fascinated by cultural lore and mythology--even the mythology around stupid things like zombies. I'm from Washington State, and I'd like to think that my combination of liking the outdoors, athleticism and being a bit of a nerd makes me an interesting person. I look forward to getting to know you!
