| The Dean of Students Office encompasses
four major areas, including the Student Life, Judicial Affairs, New Undergraduate
Student Orientation and Residence Life.
Our staff partners with other faculty, staff and students to provide innovative programs and services that enhance academic achievement and development of the whole person. We accomplish this in the following ways:
-
Coordinate New Undergraduate Student Orientation in an effort to transition new students into academic life so that they are prepared to engage in the community through curricular and co-curricular learning opportunities that will lead to future success upon graduation.
-
Coordinate Parent Orientation and Parents Weekend to cultivate the partnership between the undergraduate student family, St. Edward's and the individual student. The office is responsible for the Parent, Family, and Friends Guide to St. Edward's University and serves as a resource for parents who have questions or concerns during their student's college experience.
-
Manage the student judicial system in order to uphold student rights and responsibilities and foster individual ethical and moral development. The office is also responsible for the annual publication and distribution of the
St. Edward's University Handbook.
-
Empower students, as individuals or in groups, to manage difficult situations through collaboration with other faculty, staff, parents and community agencies, to support student success and development.
The Dean of Students office is located in Main
Building 108. Hours of operation are 8am to
5pm, Monday through Friday. The Dean of Students
staff can be reached at 512-448-8408.
